Sarah Palin: The Gift that Keeps on Giving
One of the least covered aspects of Sarah Palin is that she almost exclusively appears before crowds of far-right voters in communities that are solidly Republican. The New York Times finally addressed this on October 7, describing how those attending Palin’s Florida rallies were among the less than 25% of the population that thinks George W. Bush is doing a good job.BeyondChron: San Francisco's Alternative Online Daily News » Sarah Palin: The Gift that Keeps on Giving
Palin is rallying this conservative base not to elect McCain, which even she knows is now a lost cause, but to position herself and her ideology at the center of a newly constituted Republican Party. This explains her increasingly incendiary attacks on Obama, which hurt McCain but help position Palin at the center of the post-2008 Republican Party. ...

Semi-intelligent Apes
I don’t know what’s going to become of this country if we have to put up with another 4-8 years of Republicans. I used to think that a balance of power between the legislative and executive branch was a good idea. Then I saw what truly unscrupulous people can do when they have the power to pass and sign laws. With no checks and balances, there is little to protect us from whatever they think is a good idea — and in the case of Republicans that usually means a good idea for the privileged.
I’m continually amazed about the things that skilled politicians are able to put across on their constituents and still leave them with the idea that they give a shit. All politicians are liars to one degree or another, and anyone who says they aren’t is a ridiculous caricature of a thinking person regardless of their affiliation. But the NeoCons are in a class by themselves.
They are masterful at triggering the Them Or US response. That’s the whole secret. In a world that is being destroyed by tribalism, they are the 21st Century tribal elders, backed up by the shamans and supported by an ill-educated cadre of people who ought to be able to look at their own sorry lives and know better.
The planet will be better off without us, but I’m afraid all those folks who expect to be extracted through their sunroofs are in for an unpleasant surprise, especially when they find they’ve been sold a bill of goods about the hereafter and all those rewards.
Truly, you can give the ape a big brain, but he’s still an ape.
Those who deviate too far from the norm become Democrats.

Make-Believe Maverick
This is the story of the real John McCain, the one who has been
hiding in plain sight. It is the story of a man who has consistently
put his own advancement above all else, a man willing to say and do
anything to achieve his ultimate ambition: to become commander in
chief, ascending to the one position that would finally enable him to
outrank his four-star father and grandfather.

Next Time You're In Reykjavik
I never thought of them as being logical; quite single-minded, it seems to me.
Canned O.J. -- and damned well time!
This sorry piece of merde should have been in jail for the past 13 years. It's about time his sociopathic lifestyle is put paid.
